JALINGO, NIGERIA – A joint operation by the Taraba State Police Command, the military, and local hunters has successfully rescued an Israeli national, Mr. Gil Itamar, from kidnappers in Taraba State.

Mr. Itamar, an employee of SCC Company, was abducted around 9:15 AM in Atim Community along the Takum/Chanchangi road. He was being escorted by military personnel at the time of the incident. Alhaji Saidu, a colleague, reported the abduction to law enforcement.
According to a statement released by Command Public Relations Officer James Leshen, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Takum quickly assembled a team comprising police officers, personnel from the 67 PMF, the military, and local hunters following the distress call.
The coordinated search-and-rescue mission led to a heavy exchange of gunfire with the abductors at Kofai Ahmadu. Overwhelmed by the security forces, the kidnappers retreated, leaving Mr. Itamar behind.
Mr. Itamar is currently receiving medical attention at SCC Company’s medical facility in Takum.
The police command has affirmed that security forces are actively pursuing the fleeing criminals. Commissioner of Police Bretet Emmanuel Simon praised the joint force’s rapid and effective response and reiterated the command’s dedication to upholding law and order in the state.
