83 Set Of Baptist High School, Iree, Holds Reunion, Donation To Alma Mater

The 1983 set of Iree Baptist High School has concluded arrangements to have a befitting get-together to mark the 40 years anniversary of leaving the school on February 23, 2024. This get- together is in appreciation of God Almighty for sparing their lives and to use the opportunity to contribute to their Alma mater through the donation of a renovated block of classrooms towards making life better for the current students.

In a statement made available by the Global Chairman of the set, Oke Zacheaus Abiola, the gathering of the great men 40 years after is both symbolic and significant.

In his words, : The 1983 set of Iree Baptist High School will converge on February 23, 2024 to mark the 40 years anniversary that we left into different parts of the world. Our coming together is symbolic in that it is by the grace of God that we are alive and it is also significant in that we will be using the opportunity to donate to the school that cultivated the great values that have helped us this far”

” The 1983 set will be renovating a dilapidated block of classrooms to commemmorate our 40th Anniversary on February 23, 2024.

According to Oke, the platform which took off with 9 members with the Convener being Alhaji Isiaka Adenihun has metamorphosed into a strong and versatile group united in the spirit of love, unity and progress towards one another and Baptist High School, Iree.

While lokking forward to the February 23 date with great enthusiasm, Oke stated that the 83 set had made remarkable impacts in contributing to the development of the school and would have loved to do more but for paucity of funds.

” In the past we have been involved in renovation of Corps members’ Lodge, donation of items and N1M endowment for the perimeter fencing of the school while members have also made personal donations. These are aside from donation of basic tools such as books, sandals, matresses etc”.

I am always happy to emphasise that a member of 83set single handedly raised fund for control of erosion in the premises of our Alma mater. ”

We plan to do more more projects and our 40 years anniversary will set the tone for that. We have a renewed commitment to the school as we are where we are today by the grace of God and the school”.

Among many dignitaries in our set is an administrator par excellence, the incumbent Principal of the school – Deaconess Yetunde Ogunleye, Oke stated.

The statement further read : The Get together and Gala night comes up on 23rd February, 2023 at Governor’s hall – Leisure spring Hotel Osogbo from 5pm- 10pm under the Chairmanship of Mr Niyi lbiyemi (Prof.). The ocassion will also witness awards of excellence to dignitaries from different walks of life while special recognition will be given to the departed colleagues.

All members of the asssociation, friends and lovers of Iree Baptist Boys’ High School have been enjoined to contribute towards the delivery of the new project on February 23, 2024.
