Minister of Works, David Umahi, has revealed that 52% of ongoing road construction projects initiated by the current administration are located in northern Nigeria. This focus aligns with the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure nationwide. During an inspection of a segment of the 1,068-kilometre Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway in Kebbi State, Umahi commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and funding approval for these projects.
The minister emphasized that these initiatives, including four legacy road projects, span all six geopolitical zones, reflecting the president’s commitment to inclusivity. The projects are part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at boosting growth through improved infrastructure and transportation. The government is exploring innovative financing models to support these endeavors, leveraging partnerships both domestically and internationally.
