Residents of Imala Community in Ward 14, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, are urging Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to address the poor condition of roads in their area.
During an interview with News Channel in Imala, Prince Adebayo Mukaila Adeoye, Chairman of Oke-Ogun Area CDC, highlighted the community’s longstanding struggle for road improvements.
He emphasized the deteriorating state of the 7km Imala road, which connects to Imeko, impacting residents and economic activities.
Mukaila pointed out that the road is essential for facilitating trade and transporting agricultural produce, including the famous Imala garden egg, which is popular even in Lagos.
He expressed concern that the poor road conditions deter graduates from engaging in agriculture and contributing to the state and national agricultural sector.

Mr. Akanni Ogundeji, Chairman of Ile Ode Oke Iroko in the community, emphasized that the lack of proper road infrastructure hampers business development and government initiatives.
He suggested that improved road networks would attract investments and boost productivity.
Mr. Obatade Olalekan, another community leader, expressed residents’ frustration with the current road conditions, describing them as unbearable. Despite the community’s support for Governor Abiodun’s re-election, he lamented the government’s neglect.
Obatade stressed that a well-maintained road would not only improve transportation but also enhance living standards and social connectivity within the community.
He urged Governor Abiodun to prioritize the rehabilitation of the Imala road to alleviate their suffering and promote development.
He expressed confidence in Governor Abiodun’s leadership, believing that he would take prompt action to address the community’s concerns.
