Gunmen attack residence of Kogi electoral commissioner

Some yet to be identified gunmen have attacked the residence of the Kogi state Resident Electoral Commissioner in Lokoja, the state capital.

ValidViewNetwork learnt the attacked occured in the early hours of Friday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed the incident in a post on social media.

“The armed men engaged the security personnel in a gun battle for over 30 minutes until reinforcement arrived,” INEC said in a statement posted on X.

“While no lives were lost, property was destroyed in the ensuing gun battle.”
