GUINESS RECORD: A Number Of Things Inspired Me For 240 Hours Longest Marathon Playing Piano

Tobi Akinjobi, the Nigerian who is set for a Guiness Record as the longest marathon in playing piano/ keyboard with a target of 240 hours commencing from 12 noon on December 20, 2023 has attributed the sources of his inspiration to God, his teacher, his Pastor and Hilda Baci .

ValidViewNetwork had earlier reported that Akinjobi, the Ogun State born Pianist had expressed his readiness to put Ogun State and by extension, Nigeria on the global map by setting a new record for longest time in playing piano/ keyboard.

The longest marathon playing keyboard / piano by an individual is 130 hours and was achieved by Thurzó Zoltán (Romania) in Oradea, Romania, from 19 to 25 September 2022. Thurzó grew up in a three generation musical family, which is one of the reasons why he was motivated to break this record.

Akinjobi has raised the stake with the determination to go almost double the current record of 130 hours as he sets his eyes on 240 hours.

According to Tobi Akinjobi popularly known as Happy Hour there are quite number of things that inspired him .

” There are quite a number of things that inspired me for this contest. One of them is the doggedness, resilience and excellence exhibited by Hilda Baci.The fact that she was focused despite all odds inspired me a lot. So, I believe if she can do it, I can do it better”.

Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, is a Nigerian chef, restaurateur, actress, and the former holder of the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking with 93 hours 11 minutes which was later surpassed by Irish chef Alan Fisher with 119 hours, 57 minutes.

Another major source of inspiration is my mentor and teacher, Mr.Dapo Okunmuyide (Director, New Wine Ensemble) who believes in me so much always encouraging me to always pursue my dreams. His greatness impels me a lot.

Most importantly, my Pastor, Pastor Segun Awolowo of the Firstword Christian Assembly is one man God intentionally brought to my life to cause a shift for me. He is one man that whenever I hear him, it stirs up something in me to do the unimaginable.I’m grateful for the gift of him.
