The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed confidence that Nigeria’s economic challenges will soon be overcome, as state governors collaborate to address food shortages and other pressing issues.
Abiodun made these remarks following his reception of the Governor of the Year award at the 21st Sun Awards ceremony in Lagos on Saturday.
He highlighted the collective resolve of Nigerian governors to tackle the nation’s difficulties, emphasizing their commitment to working together towards solutions.
Abiodun praised the efforts of president Tinubu in reshaping the country, acknowledging his global recognition from institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

Assuring Nigerians of better days ahead, Abiodun outlined his administration’s initiatives, including a recent 5 billion naira special intervention package aimed at alleviating hardship in Ogun State.
He also noted the efforts of other governors in implementing measures to mitigate the challenges.
Describing the Governor of the Year award as validation of his administration’s efforts, Abiodun thanked the Sun Newspaper for the recognition, underscoring its merit-based nature.
Meanwhile, Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu in moving the country forward.
Akume emphasized the importance of tangible support over mere rhetoric, promising that Nigeria’s economy would soon recover under Tinubu’s leadership, leading to a brighter future for the nation.
