Governor Dapo Abiodun Visits Olumo Rock, Pledges to Enhance Tourism

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, recently visited Olumo Rock, a prominent tourist site in Abeokuta, with a pledge to transform it into the top tourism destination in Nigeria. During his visit, he emphasized the cultural and historical significance of Olumo Rock, which attracted over 20,000 visitors in 2024. Governor Abiodun highlighted his administration’s shift in focus towards tourism as a strategic economic policy, citing examples of countries that have successfully transitioned from oil dependency to tourism-based economies. He noted that a comprehensive plan will be developed to ensure Olumo Rock receives the necessary development and attention to elevate its status.
