Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun on Wednesday enforced the collection of old naira notes by management of a fuel station in Oyingbo area of Ijebu Ode.
Gov Abiodun who paid an unscheduled visit to the fuel station observed that the fuel station was rejecting the old naira notes from customers who wanted to buy fuel.
The governor also supervised the dispensing of the fuel was cheered by the mammoth crowd.
ValidView Network had reported on Tuesday that the governor threatened to shut commercial banks that refused to collect the old naira notes while addressing market men and women at the Itoku Kampala market in Abeokuta.
The warning by the governor follows reports that commercial banks, fuel stations and other business outlets are rejecting the old naira notes leading to panic among residents of the state.
