Former President of the Students’ Union of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and a former National Secretary of the UNAAB Alumni Association, Dr. Kayode Ogunjobi has been promoted to the professorial Cadre at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

The University’s Governing Council today confirmed the elevation of Dr Kayode Ogunjobi as an Associate Professor at the meeting of the Council chaired by the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land, who assumed duties on July 15, 2024.

The promotion is with effect from 1st October, 2022.

Dr Ogunjobi Kayode

Associate Professor Kayode Ogunjobi, an expert in Wood Utilisation and Protection was among other academic staff of the university who were promoted to various positions by the Governing Council.

Before this appointment, he taught various courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management of the foremost university. He has supervised not less than 65 undergraduate students, four Masters students and three PhD students. He held various positions in the university and was a member of important committees of the university.  He was the Examination Officer for the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management as well as the Departmental Coordinator of Part-Time Degree programme.  

Dr Ogunjobi has published in reputable journals both locally and internationally. He was Secretary ASUU-UNAAB and former Chairman, Forestry Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter.

Born on 27th August, 1974,  Associate Professor Kayode Ogunjobi, an indigene of Ifo, Ogun State, bagged his first degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management, Masters degree in Environmental Management and Protection and PhD in Wood Science from University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in the year 2000, 2007 and 2010 respectively.

Aside his commitment to the tripodal mandate of teaching, research and extension services, Dr Ogunjobi is a public analyst whose opinion on various social media platforms, radio and television programmes contributes to shaping the thought-pattern of listeners and stabilising the polity. He is also a preacher of the undiluted word of God and pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Dr Kayode Ogunjobi, a man of many attributes is also a prolific writer and publisher.

Associate Professor Kayode Ogunjobi is a member of many professional bodies among which are; Life Member, Forestry Association of Nigeria, Associate Member, Institute of Chartered Foresters, UK and Member, Society for Wood Science and Technology (USA)
