ABEOKUTA, Nigeria — The Alumni Association of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) will host a high-profile virtual lecture on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 16:00 GMT, as part of its highly anticipated 2026 Global Convention.

The event, which will held via a dedicated virtual platform, will bring together leading experts to discuss herbal cultivation and conservation as a critical intervention for sustainable wellness and longevity. This academic discourse will serve as a centerpiece for the week-long convention, which starts on April 28 and is expected to mobilize strategic support for the university’s growth and global engagement.

This was contained in a statement made available by the Chairman, Global Convention Organising Committee, Dr Oludare Adekoyrni.

The lecture, titled “Herbal Cultivation and Conservation: Intervention for Sustainable Wellness and Longevity,” seeks to bridge the gap between traditional botanical wisdom and modern wellness strategies, Adekoyeni stated. As chronic lifestyle diseases rise globally, the event promises to highlight how indigenous medicinal plants can serve as a primary defence for disease prevention and environmental sustainability.

A Confluence of Policy, Business, and Science

The convention has secured a distinguished panel of speakers to provide a 360-degree view of the salient issues. The Special Guests are Dr Charles Ayodeji Erinle, Executive Secretary of the Alternative Medicine Board, Ogun State , Mrs Nkonye Oyewusi, Founder of TallChic Naturals and Dr. Ibraheem Oduola Lawal, Provost, Federal College of Forestry Ibadan is the guest lecturer. The event therefore promises to create valuable insights from policy, business, and academic perspectives.

Driving Sustainable Wellness

The initiative is designed to move beyond traditional boundaries, framing longevity as a “whole-person” pursuit. This initiative underscores the commitment of the FUNAAB alumni community to advancing knowledge, sustainability, and impactful solutions across health and environmental sectors. By focusing on the sustainable cultivation of medicinal plants, the FUNAAB alumni community aims to provide impactful solutions that address both environmental resilience and the growing demand for natural longevity protocols, ValidViewNetwork reports.
