
Elizade University in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, has further cemented its reputation for academic excellence and innovation by promoting four distinguished members of its academic staff. Three have been elevated to the rank of Professor, while another has been promoted to Reader (Associate Professor), following rigorous evaluations by both internal and external assessors.
The newly appointed Professors are Dr. Omotola Dada, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences; Dr. Wole Adamolekun, Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Director of Academic Planning; and Dr. Lateef B. Salaam, a noted academic in the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences. Meanwhile, Dr. Titilayo Akinwumi of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has been promoted to Reader.
Prof. Omotola Dada is recognized internationally for her work in environmental science, particularly in ecology and environmental biotechnology. A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, her extensive research on environmental remediation and biotechnological solutions to plastic pollution has earned her global acclaim. As Acting Dean, she has been instrumental in driving research and program development within the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.
Prof. Wole Adamolekun brings over 40 years of professional experience spanning oil, micro-credit, and development sectors. An author of numerous books and over 40 academic articles on strategic communication and public relations, he is pivotal in curriculum and academic planning at the University.
Prof. Lateef B. Salaam specializes in microbiology and molecular ecology, with his research centered on microbial metagenomics and environmental health. His pioneering work in bioremediation has attracted both local and international attention, cementing his status as a leading scientist and mentor.
Dr. Titilayo Akinwumi, now Reader, boasts significant contributions to mathematics, including stochastic processes and quantum differential equations. She is known for her academic rigor and inspiring mentorship within her department.
Professor Sunday Babatunde Adeyemo, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, praised the promoted academics for their dedication to teaching, research, and service. He described these promotions as a reflection of Elizade University’s unwavering commitment to academic standards and innovation.
