As Muslims across Oyo State and the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Governor Seyi Makinde has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim community, urging them to use the occasion for increased prayers and spiritual reflection.
In his message on June 6, 2025, the governor described Eid-el-Kabir as a “blessed and glorious festival” that symbolizes complete dedication to God through worship and sacrifice. He prayed that Allah accepts and rewards the sacrifices of all worshippers during this sacred period.
Governor Makinde expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support and prayers from the Muslim Ummah throughout his administration’s six years in office. He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Oyo State residents as his government embarks on its seventh year.
“I congratulate my Muslim brothers and sisters in Oyo State and beyond on this joyous occasion. Eid-el-Kabir is a time to demonstrate devotion to God through prayers and sacrifice,” Makinde said. “I also appreciate the Muslim community for their continuous support and encourage them to keep praying for our government and the progress of our state.”
The governor also called on all residents to remain vigilant during the festive period, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility. “If anyone sees something suspicious, they should report it immediately so the government can take appropriate action,” he advised.
