The Alake of Egba land has made a passionate plea to the youth of Ogun State, urging them to transition their focus away from pursuing white-collar jobs towards embracing agriculture as a pivotal solution to the prevalent food crises in the state and Nigeria at large.
In his counsel, he encouraged civil servants not to solely rely on government employment but to also explore the possibility of owning farmland to complement their earnings.
Highlighting the inherent limitations of white-collar job opportunities in Nigeria, he underscored the significance of individual engagement in farming endeavors to lessen reliance on externally sourced agricultural products.

During a press briefing convened at his palace for the Lisabi festival on Monday, the Alake stressed the imperative of collective action, steering away from solely attributing blame to the government, and instead advocating for small-scale farming as a practical remedy.
Unveiling the theme of the 38th Lisabi festival as ‘Encouraging Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness: Panacea for Solving Youth Employment in Egbaland,’ the monarch outlined plans to equip Egba youths with land, equipment, seeds, and training through collaborations with international sponsors.
He expressed confidence that if Egba could significantly boost its food production capacity, it would positively impact other regions within the state, creating a ripple effect of benefits.
