Edo Governor Okpebholo Vows Justice After Uromi Killings, Visits Kano to Condole With Bereaved Families

Kano, Kano State – In a gesture of solidarity and commitment to justice, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, traveled to Kano State on Monday, March 31, 2025, to express his condolences to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the families of the 16 Kano hunters tragically killed in Uromi, Edo State.

The victims, who were travelling for Sallah celebrations,were intercepted and brutally murdered by local vigilantes who falsely accused them of being kidnappers. This heinous act has sparked widespread outrage and calls for swift justice.

During his visit, Governor Okpebholo conveyed his deep sorrow and condemned the killings as “barbaric and unacceptable.” He pledged to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice, stating that the 14 suspects already apprehended in connection with the killings would be transferred to Abuja for further,more thorough interrogation.
