Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly landed in solitary confinement following a physical altercation with a fellow inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey.
According to prison sources, the flashpoint occurred earlier this week when an inmate hurled verbal insults at the 55-year-old entertainer. The exchange quickly escalated from a war of words into a physical scuffle involving shoves and thrown punches. Witnesses noted that Combs “held his own” before rapid intervention from correction officers broke up the fight.
In the immediate aftermath, facility staff transferred Combs to the Special Housing Unit (SHU)—commonly known as solitary confinement. Prison administrators have yet to confirm his current housing status or specify what disciplinary actions the opposing inmate faces.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence handed down after his federal trial. While his release is provisionally tracked for February 2028 based on good-behavior credits, institutional infractions carry the risk of formal disciplinary sanctions that could jeopardize his projected timeline.
Representatives for both FCI Fort Dix and the Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to address individual inmate conditions or disciplinary tracking, citing standard protocols regarding institutional safety, security, and privacy. Counsel and spokespeople for Combs have not issued public statements regarding the incident.
