As the lamentations and groanings concerning the death of the communication expert, Prof Lai Oso continue, his Pastor and Senior Pastor at Victory Life Bible Church, Apostle Lawrence Achudume has asserted that his loss is a personal pain and a great loss to the church and humanity. He stressed his consolation in the fact that God knows better what He has done.

Oso, 67 year old died in a car accident on Saturday evening while returning from Delta state university, Abraka.

The Professor of Mass Communication at the Lagos State University, LASU was a pastor at the Victory Life Bible Church, Sagamu, Ogun state.

According to Apostle Achudume, the prayers that the church had prayed to avert any evil and the fact that the Late Prof Lai Oso participated in the prayers before traveling to Abraka, shows that God Knows better what He has done.

”I am comforted that God knows better what He has done. Prof Lai Oso was a devoted , fervent and dsiciplined Christian. He participated actively in the prayers and fasting that the church was praying to avert any evil before he traveled. With the convinced, sure and comforted that God knows better what He has done.

We had premonitions about the accident and prayed fervently. We didnt know who it was but God Almighty knows better, Achudume stated.

While there had been torrential tributes for the Late Prof Lai Oso, Apostle Achudume described him as a personal friend and brother whom he would miss sorely.

” We have been together since 1994. We were living together as neighbours. He was a core Marxist. He would bring his wife to church on Sunday and go back home to sleep. He found my own type of Pastor different from Pastors he had seen and heard before and that attracted him to Jesus. With time, he started asking thought-provoking questions which led to his being born again. He went through all the trainings and discipleship before he became a Pastor in our Sagamu Branch. He was a fantastic Pastor”

Apostle Achudume who confirmed that Late Prof Lai Oso was in prayers and fasting as God revealed to the church to pray against accident lamented that it was a personal loss to him but he takes solace in the fact that God know the best what He has done.

” He was in the midst of fasting and pratyer before traveling to Abraka. He could not get a flight and to avoid being stranded in Delta, he enetered a public bus which led to his death.

”The church will miss him tremendously. Humanity will miss him. He was one of those who give me advise on physical and social issues that has to do with the church. He was one of the Advisory Council Members and they have been marvelous. Unfortunately, himself and Prof. Peter Okuneye have left. The vacumm that has been created is great and the pain in my heart is unimaginable. It is a great loss to us. However, we take solace in the fact that God knows better what He has done”.

Until his death, Prof. Oso was a lecturer at the Lagos state University, and the President, Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria.
