Indications suggest that the Defence Headquarters is gearing up to unveil the names and images of a fresh batch of wanted terrorist and bandit leaders.
Reports obtained by Valid View Network reveal that this decision follows the elimination of prominent terrorist and bandit figures on the military’s radar and the emergence of new leaders within these groups.
Back in November 2022, the DHQ had declared no less than 19 bandit leaders wanted, offering a bounty of N5 million for each, with the aim of encouraging Nigerians to provide information leading to their capture.
Among the notable figures listed were Bello Turji from Fakai village, Zamfara State; Ali Kachalla, also known as Ali Kawaje, from Kuyambara village in Danaadau Maru LG of Zamfara State; and Ado Aliero, from Yankuzo village, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, among others.

Sources close to the military have hinted that a fresh list of wanted terrorists is in the works, which will include their photographs. The compilation of this list is reportedly underway, with an intention to release it to the public soon.
Confirming this development, Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, affirmed that efforts are ongoing towards finalizing the new list.
Noteworthy is the military’s recent success in neutralizing several terrorist and bandit leaders during various operations. This includes the demise of notorious bandit kingpin, Boderi, and his accomplice, Bodejo, in February 2024, following their alleged involvement in high-profile kidnappings.
Additionally, throughout February 2024, troops eliminated 10 terrorist kingpins, including Ashiru, Kachambi, and Sulen Nagala. In July 2023, the troops also brought down bandit leader Dogo Gudali in Zamfara, while in January 2023, Alhaji Shadari, a notorious bandit kingpin in Zamfara State, met a similar fate alongside some of his gang members.
