Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother has refuted rumours of relationship problems of the portuguese footballer with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together for seven years and their relationship has seemed to be growing strong.
While attending a store opening in her native Madeira, Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro, 68, called the allegations that the Real Madrid legend’s relationship with Georgina had fallen apart overnight “lies”and denied the claims.
“It’s all lies,” she told the press covering the event she had been invited to in the island capital Funchal
“Every couple argues, but what’s been written is a lie,” she was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
Meanwhile, Georgina had earlier responded to the rumours by writing in a social media post: “The jealous one invents a rumour, the gossipy one spreads it and the idiot believes it.”
Days later, Cristiano, 38, uploaded a photo of himself kissing Georgina while enjoying a meal and a drink on Instagram with the caption, “Cheers to love.”
Earlier, Portuguese television programme ‘Noite das Estrelas’ claimed that it’s likely that Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez will break up.
“I’ve been saying it for months. They are not doing well, and it is likely that they will split up. The reality is that CR7 is fed up with her. That’s the reality. I still say there will be no wedding. They are together to feed the product,” journalist Daniel Nascimento said on the programme.
“Ronaldo’s recent behaviour shows two things: that his personal life is not in a moment of happiness and that the more he distances himself from his mother, Dolores Aveiro, the less tempered he is. And we all know why he is increasingly distant from his family,” said Quintino.
