Craneburg Construction Limited, the firm handling the reconstruction of the vital Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway, has given a strong assurance that the project will be completed swiftly, promising lasting infrastructure that will benefit commuters and the economy alike. This assurance was made during an inspection visit to ongoing sites in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area, led by Ogun State’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya.
According to Mr. Pierre Andary, Project Manager at Craneburg, asphalt laying has commenced on multiple sections of the expressway, with overall project completion now surpassing 50 percent. Despite the challenges posed by seasonal rains, construction activities have proceeded uninterrupted, reflecting a commitment to timely delivery.

Commissioner Ade Akinsanya highlighted that the Abiodun administration has significantly transformed the once dilapidated road network since taking office in 2019. He called for patience from residents and motorists, emphasizing that road reconstruction requires meticulous engineering to ensure durability. He pointed out that areas like Sango-Ota, which were once likened to swimming pools due to flooding, have seen massive improvements, and that the concrete pavement method used especially around the Ewekoro axis is designed to reduce long-term maintenance by addressing the high water table in the area.
The Commissioner also dispelled misinformation from viral videos that depicted the road condition inaccurately, assuring the public that traffic congestion issues on the corridor are being managed as work progresses toward completion. Motorists were urged to exercise caution, particularly during the rainy season, for their safety and to protect the construction works in progress.

In addition to the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway, the inspection tour covered other critical roads including the Magboro–Makogi Road, Akute–Alagbole Road, Oke-Aro–Agbado Road, and Papalanto Road across several local government areas, all showing steady progress. Mr. Jason Zhang of CCECC Nigeria Limited, managing the Magboro–Makogi project, commended the cooperation between motorists and the government, which has helped maintain project timelines.
