BREAKING: THE UK ELECTS RISHI SUNAK AS ITS NEXT PRIME MINISTER.

After opponent Penny Mordaunt was unable to garner the required 100 nominations from her fellow MPs, British politician Rishi Sunak was elected as the new prime minister of the United Kingdom.
Mr. Sunak was able to take possession of No. 10 because he received the approval of a resounding majority of Tory MPs.
Sunak will become the first British prime minister of Indian descent after Valid View Network had earlier announced the retirement of Liz Truss, who resigned as Prime Minister after just 44 days in office.

This afternoon, Ms. Mordaunt abruptly withdrew from the race after failing to win the support of 100 coworkers.
After losing the previous one to Liz Truss just a few weeks prior, the former Chancellor quickly pulled ahead in the fight for the Tory leadership.
MPs showed up in large numbers to support Mr. Sunak just hours after Ms. Truss announced her retirement last Thursday.
But when Boris Johnson formally began a stunning comeback campaign, his odds of getting to Downing Street were drastically reduced.
The former prime minister returned to London to rally support after leaving his opulent vacation in the Dominican Republic.
Tory heavyweights broke into two groups: Grant Shapps and Kemi Badenoch supported Rishi, while James Cleverly and Priti Patel supported Team Boris.
Ms. Mordaunt lagged behind the two over the weekend, receiving support from only about 20 MPs.
On Sunday, Mr. Johnson left the race late in the evening.
The former prime minister felt he had enough votes to go before the Conservative membership for a vote.
But he gave up when more than two thirds of the MPs broke for Mr. Sunak.
