The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has temporarily halted the recall petition against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan due to insufficient contact information provided by the petitioners. According to INEC, the petitioners only supplied the lead petitioner’s phone number and an incomplete address, “Okene, Kogi State,” which does not meet the requirements outlined in Clause 1(f).

The petition, which collected 474,554 signatures from 902 polling units, will remain on hold until the petitioners provide the necessary contact details. INEC has urged the public to disregard speculative reports circulating on social media and awaits the completion of the petitioners’ information to proceed with the verification process using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
