The pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta Nigeria, Prof. Nurudeen ‘Nimbe Adedipe has expressed his expressed his optimism and implicit confidence in the capability of the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University to take the University to greater heights while charging him to be fair to all categories of staff without fear or favour and irrespective of religious and social leanings.
The charge come up when the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde recently led the Management of the University on a courtesy visit to the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Nurudeen ‘Nimbe Adedipe.
The visit which has been described as an infectious deep sense of reunion and appreciation of immense contributions of the pioneer Vice-Chancellor to the development of Federal University of Agriculture,Abeokuta (FUNAAB) reportedly took place at the Ikorodu private residence of the pioneer Vice-Chancellor.
ValidViewNetwork reports that the pioneer Vice-Chancellor recorded many giant strides among which was the movement of the University from its temporary site at Isale Igbein to the Alabata Permanent to the admiration of all stakeholders in the then UNAAB project sand till date. The monumental achievements of the handsome Vice-Chancellor remains a reference point in the annals of history of the University. He set the tone for the greatness of the University.
Coincidentally, the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde was Prof. Adedipe’s student at the premier University, University of Ibadan.
Kehinde, a Professor of Plant Breeding and Seed Technology and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) was accompanied by fellow Principal Officers and top notch of Non-Teaching cadre of the University:
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof.Christian Ikeobi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof.Kola Adebayo, Deputy Registrar 1( Senior Establishment, Academic), Mrs.Toyin Dawodu and the Deputy Registrar 1, Senate and Admission, Mr. Peter Agbotoba.
FUNAAB team was reportedly received by the quintessential Administrator, Prof.Adedipe and his amiable wife Mrs. Silifat Olanrewaju Adedipe.
Speaking, Prof. Adedipe expressed gratitude to the University Management for “remembering” him and “honouring”him and his family with the visit.
The pioneer Vice-Chancellor expressed optimism and implicit confidence in the ability of Prof.Kehinde-led Management to take the University to greater heights, Validviewnetwork reports.
He counselled the Vice-Chancellor to be fair to all without fear or favour and irrespective of religious and social leanings.
Prof.Adedipe also charged Prof.Kehinde to surround himself with God fearing and wise men and women, in order not to be misled but to be guided by well meaning people.
Prof.Adedipe prayed Allah to grant Prof.Kehinde and his team a resounding success in office.
Speaking, Prof.Kehinde described the visit as the home coming of beloved children (FUNAAB Management team) to their caring father( Prof.Adedipe).
He stated further that the Management of the University was on a visit to thank Allah for His faithfulness in the life of Prof Adedipe and his family over the years, and rejoice with him in advance on the celebration of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir.
While extolling the sterling qualities of the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Kehinde expressed gratitude to him profusely for his immense contributions to the development and progress of FUNAAB.
He described him as a great visionary leader and Administrator whose vision transformed FUNAAB to a force to reckon with among the nation’s Ivory Towers.
Kehinde assured the pioneer Vice-Chancellor that the University shall continue to build on the legacies and outstanding foundation laid by the enigmatic pioneer Vice-Chancellor
