A BBC Africa Eye investigation has uncovered a fraudulent operation led by Dr. Kelvin Alaneme, a UK-based Nigerian doctor and founder of CareerEdu. He allegedly sold fake job opportunities to migrants in the UK care sector, exploiting the Health & Care Worker visa scheme. Dr. Alaneme was secretly filmed boasting about his operation, offering £2,000 ($2,600) per care home vacancy plus a £500 ($650) commission.
Victims, like Praise, who paid over £10,000 ($13,000), were left stranded with no jobs upon arrival in the UK. Dr. Alaneme denied the allegations, claiming CareerEdu provided legitimate services and that payments were for training and accommodation. He plans to legally challenge the BBC report.
