The story of Olabisi Onabanjo University with this appointment is a transition from a Comrade to a Comrade. There are Comrades and there are “Come raids”

Both the out-going Vice- Chancellor and the in-coming are Comrades with impeccable character who have sacrificed immensely for the educational system in particular and the Nigeria state in general particularly for the enthronement and sustenance of democratic principles and political leadership. For decades, they have remained a constant megaphone of the oppressed and providing adequate interventions at different levels. Their ideological leaning as Comrades is unambiguous as they remain steadfast towards proffering solutions to the myriad of problems bedeviling University education in Nigeria. Though of different generations, Prof. Ganiyu Olatunde was the Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta while Prof. Ayodeji Agboola was the Chairman of the same union at Olabisi Onabanjo University. Despite holding various offices, they have remained consistent and unwavering in protecting and advancing the virtues of a Comrade indeed.
