Army Declares Soldier Wanted for Selling Uniforms to Terrorists

​The Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps has declared Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu wanted following allegations of supplying military uniforms and accoutrements to terrorists and criminal networks.

​According to military authorities, preliminary investigations tied the soldier to illicit distribution channels after he deserted his duty post at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory on June 3, 2026.

​Major Oluwatope Aluko, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Ordnance Corps, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday. The military has launched intensive operations to track down and apprehend the suspect to face disciplinary proceedings under extant military laws.

​Reiterating a strict stance against internal sabotage, the Corps emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward indiscipline and misconduct that compromises national security or tarnishes the reputation of the armed forces. The military warned that any personnel found aiding non-state actors through the unauthorized diversion of controlled assets will face the full weight of military and civil prosecution.

​Authorities have urged members of the public with credible information regarding the whereabouts of Private Amutu to report immediately to the nearest military formation or security agency.
