Students of Ogun State origin studying in tertiary educational institutions nationwide have begun receiving a cash grant of N50,000 as part of the state’s N5 billion special intervention program aimed at alleviating economic hardships.
The N50,000 cash grant is a component of the palliative measures within the N5 billion package.
Reports indicate that some students started receiving bank alerts for the N50,000 cash grant on Thursday.

However, there is also anxiety among the targeted beneficiaries as many are yet to receive alerts confirming the disbursement.
Furthermore, students in primary and secondary schools are also expected to receive a cash grant of N10,000 each under the same intervention program.
To facilitate the disbursement process, the State Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has communicated with the heads of tertiary institutions, requesting them to provide the names of Ogun State indigenes enrolled in their institutions to ensure they benefit from the cash disbursement scheme.
