
A trip meant for reunion and love has come to a heartbreaking and mysterious end. Jacqueline Bolling Elton, a 60-year-old woman from the United States, tragically died after falling ill in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. She had traveled thousands of miles to meet her 39-year-old Nigerian boyfriend, Alawode Olaide, but her visit ended in sorrow.
According to reports, Jacqueline fell seriously ill on Monday, September 29, 2025, around 3:00 PM. She was initially taken to a private hospital in Otokutu, a nearby town, but doctors quickly referred her to the Central Hospital in Warri for more advanced care. Tragically, despite these efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.
The unusual and sudden nature of her death sparked immediate attention. Delta State police were promptly informed and visited the home where the incident occurred. Her boyfriend, Alawode Olaide, has been taken into police custody for questioning as authorities seek to understand the circumstances surrounding Jacqueline’s sudden passing.
Her body has been taken to the Central Hospital mortuary where an autopsy will be conducted. The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) will oversee the investigation, aiming to uncover the precise cause of death and provide answers to an otherwise shocking tragedy.
