Akure, Ondo State – Akure, the vibrant capital of Ondo State, today marked a significant milestone as its monarch, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, the Deji of Akure, celebrated his 10th coronation anniversary. The event was lauded by Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who commended the Deji for a decade of exemplary leadership characterized by peace, unity, and substantial contributions to the development of Akure and the wider state.

The commendation came during a grand homage parade and award presentation held at Democracy Park in Akure. Governor Aiyedatiwa, addressing a distinguished gathering, congratulated the Deji and the people of Akure Kingdom on this “momentous occasion,” praising the monarch’s unwavering commitment to state development over the past ten years.

Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted Oba Aladelusi’s consistent support for successive administrations, describing his reign as “peaceful and development-driven.” He stated, “Your Imperial Majesty, your reign has been marked by significant achievements, particularly in promoting peace, unity, and cultural preservation. One of the most important things I must acknowledge is the consistent support you have given to the government in power over the last decade to ensure peace and calmness in Akure Kingdom.”

Strategic Role of Traditional Institutions
The Governor acknowledged the pivotal role of traditional institutions in governance, expressing appreciation for the Deji’s collaboration with the state government, especially during his tenure as the immediate past Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas.
