Akarigbo of Remoland Urges Unity Against Cultist Violence in Sagamu

The Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, has expressed deep concern over the escalating cultist killings in Sagamu.

He described the situation as a monstrous threat to the peaceful coexistence of the town and its surroundings.

In an interview with newsmen at his palace in Sagamu, the Akarigbo urged Remo indigenes both within Nigeria and abroad to collaborate and devise solutions to halt the incessant killings, immoral behavior, and other crimes plaguing the town.

The monarch’s call for action came in the wake of the recent killing of the Balogun of Itunsoku Community in Sagamu, Chief Abiodun Folarin, at his residence.

The police reported that Chief Folarin was murdered by suspected cultists while he was relaxing outside his home.

Expressing dismay over the lack of progress in apprehending the perpetrators of such a high-profile crime, the Akarigbo highlighted the series of killings that have occurred in Sagamu due to clashes between rival cultist groups.

Efforts by the police to clamp down on the rampaging cultists have led to the arrest of numerous suspects.

However, the Akarigbo emphasized the need for collective action involving chiefs, elders, and community leaders to effectively address the root causes of the violence and bring an end to the killings.

Prince Kolawole Onalaja, the Secretary to the Sagamu Local Government, disclosed that a special security patrol comprising operatives from all security agencies had been constituted to restore peace to the town.
