AKURE – In a major move to bolster the Ondo State Civil Service, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment and confirmation of 32 new Permanent Secretaries.
The announcement, released Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening the state’s administrative machinery. The appointments, which include seasoned professionals across various ministries, took formal effect on February 1, 2026.

Top-Level Statutory Appointments
Beyond the 32 Permanent Secretaries, the Governor also confirmed two pivotal statutory roles to lead essential oversight functions:
- Olusola Sunday Ajayi has been named the Statistician-General of the State.
- Dr. Charles Tunde Ojuolape has been appointed as the Auditor-General for Local Governments, pending final clearance from the Ondo State House of Assembly.
Strengthening the Bureaucracy
The list of newly elevated officers reflects a blend of technical expertise and administrative experience. Among the new Permanent Secretaries are Mrs. Tayo Ogundare, Tope Lebile (mni), Engr. Akinluyi Omotola, and Dr. Mrs. Abike Ilawole.
The inclusion of professionals such as Tpl. Abimbola Tofowomo and Surv. Idowu A. Owolabi signals a focus on specialized leadership within the state’s urban planning and surveying sectors.
Next Steps
The Governor’s office confirmed that a formal swearing-in ceremony for the new appointees will be scheduled shortly. While the appointments are already retroactive to the start of the month, the upcoming ceremony will officially integrate the officers into their high-level responsibilities.
