Leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ondo State have announced the suspension of the State Chairman, Wole Ademoyegun, as part of a major leadership shake-up within the party.
The decision was disclosed at a press conference attended by key stakeholders drawn from the party’s major blocs across the state.
The coalition, which includes the PDP bloc led by Bode Ayorinde, the Labour Party/Obidient Movement led by Biodun Ambode, the ADC aborigines under Nejo Myson, and the Omoluabi Group led by Femi Johnson, said the move followed extensive consultations aimed at strengthening the party’s structure.
They stated that the suspension has now paved the way for a unified and streamlined party structure across the state.
According to the leaders, “there is no faction in the party in Ondo State. The only structure that exists today is the recognized party structure.”
In addition to the suspension, the coalition announced the immediate removal of the State Chairman, Wole Ademoyegun.
They further unveiled plans for the constitution of a new State Executive Committee to be led by Hon. Sola Ebiwonjumi. The new executive, they said, will include representatives from all 18 local government areas and ward chairmen to ensure broad-based participation.
The leaders emphasized their commitment to building an inclusive party anchored on fairness, transparency, and collective leadership ahead of the forthcoming congress.
They also confirmed that the national leadership of the party has been duly informed of the developments and is aware of the current structure in the state.
The statement was jointly signed by Prof. Biodun Ambode, Barr. Nejo Myson, and Hon. Femi Johnson, who reaffirmed their resolve to move the party forward under the new leadership arrangement.
