Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former Governor of Kano State and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been officially inaugurated as Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). The ceremony, held in Abuja, was presided over by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who described the event as a pivotal step toward repositioning Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The inauguration comes just days after Ganduje’s resignation as APC National Chairman, a move he attributed to urgent personal reasons. His appointment as FAAN board chairman was initially made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in January 2025, but the formal induction took place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, and was confirmed through a video posted by the minister’s media aide on X (formerly Twitter).
