A 19-year-old Nigerian-born British citizen has been remanded in custody in Barbados after police seized 23.4 kilograms of suspected cocaine valued at more than $1.17 million in a major narcotics operation targeting would-be exporters.
Abdul-Rasheed Anjolaoluwa Oduola, of Valance Wood Road, Dagenham, East London, was arrested by the Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit and formally charged with possession of cocaine, trafficking of cocaine, intent to supply cocaine, and attempting to export cocaine. The offences are alleged to have occurred on 29 September 2026.

Oduola appeared before the District “B” Magistrates’ Court alongside another British national, 22-year-old Miraldie Ndunzi of Stor Road, East London. Ndunzi faces identical charges after officers recovered a further 23.6 kilograms of suspected cocaine from him, estimated at approximately $1.18 million. Combined, the seizures total nearly 47 kilograms with a street value approaching $2.35 million in Barbados currency.

Both men were remanded in custody until 28 October. The charges relate to separate incidents on the same day, according to police.
Authorities have not released further operational details about how the drugs were discovered or the precise circumstances of the alleged export attempts.

The arrests form part of ongoing efforts by the Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit to disrupt transnational drug trafficking routes through the island. Oduola, described in reports as a UK-based Nigerian teenager, and Ndunzi now face potentially lengthy proceedings in the Barbadian courts.
Police confirmed the weights and values in official statements released earlier this week. The case remains before the magistrates, with both suspects held pending their next appearance.
