“I Was on the Verge of Giving It All Up”: Mr Macaroni Thanks Friends, Secret Benefactor

In a lengthy post shared on his social media platforms, Mr Macaroni said he cried “so much” after reading messages from people recounting things he had done for them at different times, many of which he said he could no longer remember.

The giver who eventually needed help

He said he was accustomed to giving rather than receiving because people often assumed he had enough to spare.

Even when he borrowed money, he said, he would return it with interest without being asked.

But according to the actor, the past few years were different. He said he found himself asking for help from “everywhere and anywhere” he could think of and eventually reached a point where he was close to giving up.

That experience appears to have changed his understanding of receiving help.

Mr Macaroni disclosed that an unnamed person repeatedly came to his aid and eventually settled all the debts he owed. He deliberately withheld the person’s identity, saying the individual would be upset if he mentioned his name publicly.

The entertainer described the person’s intervention as something he could hardly explain without attributing it to divine intervention.

He said the help gave him hope at a time when he believed everything was over.

He said he had been paid ₦50,000 for two scenes on one production but received an additional ₦200,000 from Mr Macaroni for transportation after the younger actor escorted him to his car.

Fatomilola said Mr Macaroni later invited him to another production involving veteran actor Pete Edochie.

According to the veteran actor, there was no prior negotiation over his fee, but he later discovered that Mr Macaroni had sent him ₦1 million for the role.

Fatomilola also said two children who accompanied him to the set received ₦100,000 and ₦50,000 respectively from Mr Macaroni.
