Davido’s elder sister, Sharon Ademefun, has now lifted the curtain on that role, describing how she manages the singer’s finances and works to curb his appetite for luxury purchases, particularly cars.

ValidViewNetwork can confirm that Ademefun, a businesswoman in her own right and an executive director at the family’s Pacific Holdings, spoke about the arrangement in an interview touching on both her professional life and her closeness to her famous younger brother.

A spending habit that is no secret

This is not the first time Davido’s finances have made headlines. In July, the singer himself disclosed on a livestream that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 monthly on his personal lifestyle.

Those figures excludes his wife Chioma’s upkeep and any purchase of luxury cars or jewellery — categories that, ironically, are exactly where Ademefun says she tries hardest to apply the brakes.

Family as financial guardrail

Findings show that the Adeleke family has long operated as something of a business unit around Davido’s career, with his father, businessman Dr Adedeji Adeleke, and siblings including Adewale Adeleke (Chairman of HKN Music) playing visible roles in shaping and protecting the singer’s fortune.

Ademefun’s disclosure fits that pattern, framing family oversight as a quiet counterweight to the excesses that fame and easy credit can invite.

ValidViewNetwork reports that Nigerian commentators have, on more than one occasion, publicly urged Davido to save more aggressively, pointing to former football and music stars who fell on hard times after their earning years ended.
