Eleven Killed in Brutal Township House Party Shooting

​DURBAN — Law enforcement agencies have launched an intensive manhunt following a devastating mass shooting that claimed the lives of at least eleven individuals, including an expected mother, at a residential gathering in the KwaMakhutha township, located roughly 30 kilometers south of Durban on South Africa’s east coast.

In an act of secondary destruction, the attackers also set fire to a vehicle belonging to one of the victims before fleeing the scene.

Four others sustained severe gunshot wounds and were rushed to nearby medical facilities for emergency treatment, where one additional victim later died, bringing the death toll to eleven. Three survivors remain hospitalized with varying injuries.
