Nigerian entertainer Anita Asuoha, widely celebrated as Real Warri Pikin, has bagged the Best Stand-Up Comedian award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards.
The comic act broke the news of her latest milestone on her official Instagram handle on Sunday, expressing immense excitement over the triumph at the high-profile ceremony held in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday. Celebrating the win, she shared her gratitude with the short declaration, “We won #afrimma Best Stand-up Comedian 2026.”
The victory comes after a fiercely competitive category featuring some of the continent’s biggest comedic heavyweights. Real Warri Pikin outshined notable Nigerian colleagues including Basketmouth, Bovi, and Godfrey, alongside international comedic powerhouses like South Africa’s Trevor Noah, Kenya’s Eric Omondi and Ty Ngachira, and Uganda’s Patrick “Salvado” Idringi.
The AFRIMMA gala took place on September 12, 2026, at the Annette Strauss Square within the AT&T Performing Arts Centre precinct in Dallas, drawing music and comedy stars from across the African diaspora to celebrate excellence in the creative industry.
