2027: Abiodun Crowns Yayi, Targets 2M Votes For Tinubu

​Governor Dapo Abiodun has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State is fully unified and prepared for a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.

​Speaking at a massive mega rally held at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, the governor praised the overwhelming turnout of supporters drawn from all 20 local government areas. He described the event as concrete proof of the party’s formidable grassroots strength and organizational readiness.

​Endorsing Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (popularly known as Yayi) as his prospective successor, Abiodun lauded the governorship candidate’s extensive public service background and financial expertise, emphasizing that he possesses the competence required to build upon the administration’s foundation. The governor further reiterated the state chapter’s unwavering target of delivering two million block votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the national level.

​The high-energy gathering was put together by Caucus 7202, an independent political support coalition. The Director-General of the group, Moctar Koiki, revealed that the network boasts approximately 180,000 members statewide, noting that over 90 percent of its participants are non-partisan citizens galvanized by the progressive trajectory of the current administration. Koiki affirmed that the group’s decentralized structures are already active across every ward to secure widespread electoral success.

​Addressing the cheering throngs, Senator Adeola pledged to elevate governance in the state to new heights (“Itesiwaju level”) by consolidating ongoing developmental projects rather than abandoning them. He explicitly dismissed rumors of any backroom alliances with opposition parties, urging loyalists to maintain focus.

​State APC Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi also charged members to intensify grassroots voter education, ensuring that the party’s manifestos and accomplishments are effectively communicated to every community before the polls.
