Odogwu Asaba Remanded Over Favour’s Death

​A Delta State court has ordered the remand of popular content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, widely known as “Odogwu of Asaba,” at the Ogwashi Uku Maximum Correctional Centre. The court issued the directive following an application brought before it, marking a critical legal escalation in the high-profile investigation surrounding the tragic demise of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.

​Awele Ideal, counsel to the grieving family, confirmed the development to the public, noting that the court proceeding came barely a week after the conclusive autopsy and toxicology reports were formally transmitted to the police investigative team.

​The case dates back to early June, when the suspect allegedly lured the young victim from her base to Asaba under the pretext of mentoring and training her in digital content creation. According to police findings, the 40-year-old social media personality instead drove her to a hotel, where he allegedly subjected her to physical violence and sexual assault.

​Favour reportedly returned home deeply traumatized, recounted the harrowing ordeal to her parents, and documented her experience in a distressed video recording before tragically taking her own life by ingesting a toxic substance.

While the suspect’s wife later publicly contested the rape allegations—insisting that the encounter was consensual while maintaining his innocence regarding her death—law enforcement intensified their probe.
