​Co-Worker Charged with Premeditated Murder in Brutal Great Falls Stabbing

​FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Investigators in Fairfax County have detailed a chilling sequence of events leading up to the mid-August slaying of 42-year-old Carmen Lizet Puch, whose body was discovered near Difficult Run Park in Great Falls.

​Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, a 19-year-old restaurant co-worker of the victim, faces a charge of second-degree murder following what police describe as a meticulously planned attack triggered by an exposed workplace affair.

​According to court documents and statements presented by prosecutors, the violence unfolded in the early morning hours of August 17. Investigators stated that Puch, a Reston resident and mother to a 3-year-old girl, had recently sent screenshots documenting an intimate relationship between the two co-workers directly to Cedillos-Campos’s girlfriend.

​A witness cooperating with law enforcement reported that Cedillos-Campos openly expressed murderous intentions following the disclosure. Police records indicate the suspect gathered a kitchen knife, latex gloves, and a water bottle from their shared workplace before arranging to meet Puch at the park.

​Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis characterized the homicide as heavily premeditated, pointing to security camera footage from the restaurant that captured the suspect arming himself and preparing for the confrontation before departure.

​Authorities received reports of a body found bearing multiple stab wounds and covered in gasoline. Investigators believe the assailant attempted to set the remains on fire to destroy evidence following the fatal stabbing.

​A breakthrough in the timeline came at approximately 4:00 a.m. on the morning of the murder, when Cedillos-Campos allegedly contacted a fellow employee, declaring that “he did it”—a statement prosecutors interpreted as a direct confession.

​Following a multi-jurisdictional pursuit, law enforcement tracked the suspect across state lines, leading to his apprehension in Maryland on August 19. Extradited back to the Commonwealth, Cedillos-Campos made his initial appearance in a Fairfax County courtroom, where he is currently being held without bond. A subsequent court date is scheduled for November 30.
