LAGOS — The Nigerian entertainment landscape has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran Juju and Highlife musician, Janet Iyun Ajilore, popularly known as St. Janet.
The vibrant entertainer, widely celebrated for her electrifying stagecraft, pulsating live performances, and socially unfiltered party anthems, died on Saturday following a brief illness. Often referred to by her devoted fanbase as the “Mummy G.O of St. Bottle’s Cathedral” or the “Sinners’ Chapel,” the late artist carved a unique space in contemporary Nigerian music culture.
