Chrisean Rock Denies Role in Ronny Doe Murder Amid Active Probe

SEVERN, Md. — Reality television personality and rapper Chrisean Rock has publicly pushed back against lingering online speculation linking her to the fatal 2025 shooting of her former partner, Karon “Ronny Doe” Cann.

During a recent social media livestream, Rock maintained that law enforcement cleared her of any direct involvement in the homicide. According to the rapper, detectives recorded an on-camera statement and assured her that she was not a target of the investigation.

”We know you didn’t do it, we got his phone,” Rock claimed investigators told her, adding that she welcomed the formal questioning to help uncover what happened.

Cann was shot and killed in February 2025 after being discovered with multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence in Severn, Maryland. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel pronounced him dead. More than a year later, the Anne Arundel County police department confirmed that the homicide investigation remains open and active, though authorities have yet to publicly identify a suspect or official person of interest. Police spokespersons have repeatedly declined to comment on whether investigators intend to interview specific individuals as the case proceeds.

During her broadcast, Rock deflected allegations surrounding her connection to the deceased, pointing instead to what she described as hazardous personal circumstances and substance abuse issues in Cann’s life prior to the shooting. She asserted that those in his immediate circle failed to intervene or protect him.

Rock also addressed public backlash on social media, expressing frustration that online commentators focused heavily on her association with the deceased while ignoring the emotional toll the narrative has taken on her. She added that she harbored little personal sympathy, claiming Cann had previously attempted to damage her public standing.

Authorities urge anyone with additional information regarding the February 2025 shooting to contact local law enforcement as the active investigation continues.
