​A Nigerian-American innovator and Harvard alumnus, Yinka Ogunbiyi, has introduced a paradigm shift in the beauty industry with the creation of HaloBraid, heralded as the globe’s inaugural robotic assistant engineered specifically for hair braiding.

Intricate protective styling—a cornerstone of grooming across Africa and the global diaspora—frequently subjects practitioners to prolonged periods of repetitive strain, resulting in chronic wrist, shoulder, and spinal discomfort. Operating as an advanced “co-stylist,” HaloBraid absorbs the repetitive mechanics of the braiding sequence.
