A film shoot turned into a real-life nightmare for Nollywood actress Omeche Oko, who is currently hospitalized following a horrific motorcycle accident on a movie set.
The actress shared the harrowing experience with her fans on Instagram on Wednesday, posting a video compilation that captured the filming process, the exact moment of the crash, and her subsequent medical treatment.
The Crash and Immediate Aftermath
The incident occurred while Oko was filming a scene riding on the back of a motorcycle operated by her colleague and fellow actor, Victory Michael. The shoot took a dangerous turn when Michael collided with the metal pole of a vehicle barrier at the location.
The high-impact collision slammed Michael’s arm against the structure, causing him to instantly lose control of the motorcycle. The force of the impact threw Oko heavily onto the ground.
Subsequent clips in the video detailed a chaotic scene as frantic production crew members and castmates rushed to assist the actress, who was crying out in severe pain. She was immediately evacuated from the set and rushed to a nearby hospital. Later segments of the footage showed Oko receiving medical care, including injections and targeted treatment for physical trauma.
”Life is Fragile”—Oko Reflects on the Risks of the Craft
Accompanied by the video, Oko shared an emotional reflection on the inherent dangers actors face to bring stories to life, expressing deep gratitude for her survival.
“Life is very, very fragile. It could have been a different story, but God said NO. If u see an actor today, give them a hug. We take a lot of risks for the craft. All I can say is Thank You, God,” she wrote.
Outpouring of Support from Nollywood and Fans
The shocking footage quickly went viral, drawing an outpouring of emotional support, prayers, and well-wishes from Nollywood colleagues and fans alike.
Prominent actor Baba Rex reacted with relief, writing, “Thank God oo,” while actress Onyii Alex commented, “Oh my baby. Glory be to God.”
