Ogundipe, has formally accepted his appointment as Chairman of the Advisory Board of ValidViewNetwork Media.

ValidViewNetwork reports that the appointment was conveyed through a letter signed by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ValidViewNetwork Media, Kayode Ogunjobi FHEA, FFAN, who described the veteran journalist as a distinguished professional whose decades of service have significantly shaped journalism, democratic engagement, labour advocacy, and media administration in Nigeria and across Africa.

In the appointment letter, the management of ValidViewNetwork Media highlighted the basis for the appointment, stating that it was made “in recognition of your outstanding contributions to journalism, democratic engagement, media administration, labour advocacy, and national development over the course of more than five decades of meritorious service to Nigeria, Africa, and the global media community.”

The organisation further praised Mr. Ogundipe’s remarkable professional journey, noting that “your remarkable journey within the journalism profession, rising from reporter to respected editor, media executive, union leader, and continental figure in journalism advocacy, remains a source of inspiration to countless professionals across generations.”

Providing further insight into the rationale behind the appointment, the letter acknowledged his distinguished leadership record, stating that “your distinguished service as President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the African Union of Journalists clearly reflects your exceptional leadership capacity, integrity, courage, and commitment to the advancement of ethical journalism and responsible public communication.”

The management also paid tribute to his personal qualities, emphasizing that beyond professional accomplishments, “we are particularly humbled by your uncommon humility, accessibility, simplicity, and unwavering commitment to supporting emerging institutions and younger generations within the media profession.”

According to the letter, these qualities made his acceptance particularly significant because “it is this rare combination of experience, wisdom, and humility that has made it possible for you to graciously accept to contribute towards the growth and development of ValidViewNetwork Media.”

The organisation described the appointment as a privilege, noting that “it is a great honour and privilege for our organisation to have a veteran of your standing provide astute leadership, strategic guidance, and professional mentorship towards promoting excellence, integrity, objectivity, and professionalism in the dissemination of information.”
