MANSO NKWANTA – Security operatives in the Ashanti Region of Ghana have apprehended a 28-year-old Nigerian woman, Esther Egbuhama, for her alleged involvement in running an illegal brothel.
The arrest followed a targeted raid by the Manso Nkwanta Police Command on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Acting on high-level intelligence, officers stormed a facility known as Mama Nice Lodge at Manso Watreso, which was suspected of hosting illicit activities.
According to a police statement released on Monday, the operation was part of a broader crackdown on criminal hideouts within the jurisdiction. While Egbuhama was caught at the scene, several of her alleged accomplices and other suspects managed to evade arrest, fleeing the premises before the police could secure the perimeter.
The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has reiterated that operating a brothel is a serious criminal offense under Section 277 of the Criminal Offences Act. Law enforcement officials warned that such facilities often serve as hubs for broader criminal networks and exploitation.
Egbuhama is currently in custody at the Manso Nkwanta Police Station, where she is assisting investigators. Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle the network linked to the lodge.
