Police Hunt Actress Patricia Boateng Over Ties to Deadly ‘Duku’ Robbery Gang

ACCRA – The Ghana Police Service has declared popular Kumawood actress and entrepreneur, Patricia Osei Boateng, a wanted person in connection with a series of violent carjacking operations and the high-profile murder of Andrews Amankwa, the father-in-law of GOLDBOD CEO Sammy Gyamfi.

​The manhunt follows a breakthrough in investigations by a special task force established by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno. The actress is alleged to have been the primary accomplice to her late husband, Eric Antwi Duku—the notorious leader of the “Duku Syndicate”—who was killed last week during a fierce gun battle with the police.

​The Deadly Connection

​According to police investigators, the syndicate specialized in snatching high-value vehicles, including Toyota Hilux pickups and Land Cruisers, for resale through sophisticated local and international channels. The gang’s most recent operation on February 10, 2026, at Ohwim Tigo Junction in Kumasi, resulted in the fatal shooting of Mr. Andrews Amankwa.

​”The suspects are part of a wider criminal network,” a police source confirmed. “We have already arrested four key members of the gang, but Patricia Osei Boateng remains a person of interest whose role was pivotal to their operations.”

​Deception and Disguise

​Intelligence reports suggest a chilling level of involvement by the actress. Police claim Boateng frequently disguised herself as a professional nurse to facilitate the gang’s movement through security checkpoints. In this guise, she allegedly transported suspicious items and assisted her husband in evading detection during active police sweeps.

​Further suspicions were raised after investigators discovered that the actress traveled to Dubai shortly after several major robberies were executed. Authorities are currently verifying travel records and financial transactions to determine if these trips were used to launder proceeds from the gang’s criminal activities.

​Surrender Rumors and Police Stance

​While some unconfirmed reports suggest Boateng may have recently approached the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning, the police have maintained her status as “wanted” until formal statements and procedures are completed.

​The IGP has reiterated his warning to violent criminals, stating, “We will leave no stone unturned. By every legal means, we will pursue, arrest, and bring to justice everyone connected to this syndicate.”
