Former Senate President and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pius Anyim was on Thursday recalled from suspension by the leadership of the party.
Also, the two-term governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, was recalled from suspension by the acting Chairman of the PDP.
Both of them were suspended from the party by the embattled Dr Iyorcha Ayu who stepped aside as PDP National Chairman on Tuesday following the endless controversies that trailed his leadership.
Their recall followed the review by the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday.
Others whose suspension were on Thursday lifted include, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, Dr. Aslam Aliyu, and Former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema, according to a statement made available to journalists in Abuja by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.
The statement revealed that their suspensions were extensively discussed and a resolution was arrived at in the interest of the party.
It reads in part: “This decision is without prejudice to the powers of the NWC to take necessary disciplinary action against any member of the Party at any time pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).
“The NWC charges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our Party across the country to be guided by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) as well as the new spirit and necessity of reconciliation, unity and harmony in our Party at this critical time.”
