Sanwo-Olu Commissions Renovated LSPC Central Mosque

In a landmark ceremony blending spiritual devotion with institutional gratitude, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, officially commissioned the newly renovated Alhaji G.K. Oseni Central Mosque at the Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) on Friday, January 23, 2026.

The event, held during a special Jumat service, served a dual purpose: enhancing the spiritual infrastructure of the Corporation and immortalizing the legacy of its pioneer Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Oseni, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

A Legacy Anchored in Faith and Excellence

Representing the Governor, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Muhammed Tajudeen, Special Adviser on Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement, described the mosque as a “symbol of faith, unity, and institutional heritage.”

He lauded the LSPC leadership for recognizing that an organization’s strength lies in its ability to honor its pioneers. “Institutions grow stronger when they transmit the values of their founders to future generations,” Tajudeen remarked, urging staff to utilize the sanctuary as a center for moral renewal and ethical discipline.

Honoring a Visionary Pioneer

The General Manager of LSPC, Hon. (Dr.) Kolawole Peregrino, highlighted that the decision to name the mosque after Alhaji Oseni was a deliberate act of “institutional memory.”

”Alhaji Oseni’s legacy of discipline and service remains our guiding light. This mosque is a daily reminder of the values that built this institution over five decades ago,” Peregrino stated.

The ceremony was graced by a distinguished guest list, reflecting the deep historical roots of the Corporation:

• Alhaja Sikirat Abimbola Jakande, wife of the first civilian Governor of Lagos State (under whose tenure LSPC was established).
• Mr. Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy.
• Alhaji Akeem Apatira, the primary donor for the mosque’s reconstruction.
• Members of the Oseni family and prominent religious leaders.

A Sanctuary for Modern Service

The renovation transforms the mosque into a serene sanctuary for both staff and the surrounding community. Beyond its architectural upgrade, the project reinforces the Corporation’s commitment to “spiritual upliftment” alongside professional productivity.

As the LSPC continues its trajectory of transformation under the Sanwo-Olu administration, the Alhaji G.K. Oseni Central Mosque stands as a living monument—proving that progress is most meaningful when anchored in heritage and purpose.
